My Beautiful Souls 💛
I Prayed for This… So Why Am I Shaking?
I’ve talked about fear before. But growth has a way of reintroducing it. Every new level carries its own version. And this week, I faced mine again. Change is scary… but do it anyway. Let me be honest with you. I prayed for this. I asked for growth. I asked for new opportunities. I asked God to stretch me. And then it came. The open door. The new level. The responsibility.
And suddenly… I froze.
All the thoughts rushed in at once. You’re not ready. You’re not qualified. You can’t handle this. What if you fail?
But wait. Didn’t I pray for this?
Sometimes we pray for expansion… without realizing the weight it carries.
Fear Doesn’t Mean Stop. It Means Stretch.
Here’s what I had to remind myself: fear is not always a red light. Sometimes it’s a sign that you’re stepping into something bigger than your old version. And bigger requires growth.
That verse came back to me clearly: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” - 2 Timothy 1:7
Fear may be loud. But it has no authority.

With God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). That includes the things I once thought were “too big” for me.
Maybe you’re in that space too. You prayed for the business. You prayed for the opportunity. You prayed for the open door. And now you’re staring at it, wondering if you can carry it. You can. But not alone.
Doing It Afraid Anyway
Courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s obedience in the middle of it.
As mompreneurs, we carry a lot. Children. Vision. Bills. Faith. Responsibility. The mental load alone could be its own full-time job. But growth will always feel uncomfortable at first. New levels stretch us. New opportunities expose our insecurities. New challenges with our kids can shake our confidence.
Still… we move.
Not because we feel fearless. But because we trust Who walks with us.
7 Practical Ways to Overcome Fear as a Mompreneur
Name the fear. Write it down. Fear loses power when it’s exposed.
Separate facts from feelings. “I feel unqualified” is not the same as “I am unqualified.”
Pray specifically. Don’t just ask for success. Ask for wisdom, endurance, and clarity.
Take one small action immediately. Momentum kills paralysis.
Protect your mind. Limit voices (including your own) that feed doubt.
Prepare, don’t panic. Learn what you need to learn. Ask for help. Use tools. Grow into the role.
Remember your why. Your children are watching. You’re modelling courage, not perfection.
You are allowed to grow. You are allowed to feel stretched. You are allowed to be scared and still move forward.
This week, if God placed something in front of you… step into it. Do it afraid anyway.
Maybe you are simply becoming.
In faith and fearless obedience, Laurie B.
