Where Inspiration Found Me

My Beautiful Souls 💛

You know those weeks where nothing dramatic happens? No big breakthrough, no plot twist, no “sit down, I have a story for you” moment. Well… that was my week. And honestly, it reminded me that the quiet weeks sometimes carry the sweetest kind of progress. The kind that we only notice when we slow down long enough to feel it. I did what I always do: cared for the kids, stayed consistent at the gym (even though my pillow tried to convince me otherwise), and kept building the vision God placed on my heart. Nothing out of the ordinary… until I decided to take myself out for a few hours. That’s when everything shifted. Before I even get into the story, let me share the scripture that carried the whole spirit of my week:

“He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul.” — Psalm 23:2–3 (NIV)

That verse held me so gently. It reminded me that sometimes God restores us in the moments we least expect, the quiet ones.

The Day I Took Myself Out

This week, I grabbed my laptop, my notebook, my headphones, and most importantly, my favorite drink, and I stepped out for a little “me” time. No rush. No guilt. No schedule except my own. I settled into a beautiful, inspiring spot where the energy felt warm and calm. I didn’t plan anything specific; I just wanted space. Space to think. Space to breathe. Space to reconnect with the woman behind all the responsibilities. And let me tell you… It worked.

As I sat there typing, reflecting, and listening to music that feeds my soul, ideas began to spark again. Not in a forced way, just naturally. One thought led to another. A vision opened up. A plan made sense. A dream felt a little closer. A few hours later, I grabbed lunch right there, still in the same peaceful flow. I didn’t rush myself. I let the moment be whatever it wanted to be. I left that place lighter than I walked in. And honestly? I didn’t realize how much I needed that pause until I took it.

A Change of Scenery Can Change Your Spirit There’s something powerful about stepping out of your usual four walls. When you’re surrounded by daily responsibilities, your mind stays in “go mode,” and it becomes hard to hear yourself think. Sometimes we feel stuck, not because we lack inspiration, but because we never change our environment. But the moment you shift your scenery, even for a couple of hours, your creativity wakes up. That small change, that new view, that quiet moment away from routine can unclog your thoughts, reconnect you with your purpose, and remind you of who you’re becoming.

That’s all I did. I didn’t go far. I didn’t plan a fancy outing. I just stepped outside my routine. And suddenly, everything felt lighter. Clearer. Simpler. I wasn’t searching for a big lesson, yet inspiration found me anyway. Sometimes God hides clarity in the simplest moments. You just need to move into a different space long enough to hear Him.

Sometimes peace isn’t something you chase; it’s something you walk into.

The Solo Inspiration Date, A Gift You Deserve

Let me just say this: Every woman should take herself on a solo inspiration date. It doesn’t need to be fancy. It doesn’t need to be expensive. You don’t have to book a spa or travel across the world. Just take yourself somewhere that feels good. Get your favorite drink. Bring your notebook or your Bible. Let your mind breathe a little.

And if you want to elevate the experience? Book an Airbnb for a mini retreat. A few hours or a night alone can refill you in a way that touches every part of your life. No distractions. No noise. Just you, God, and your thoughts. Dream, pray, journal, plan or simply rest. It’s not indulgence. It’s alignment.

Walking Like My Future Is Already Here

Before heading back home, I took a moment to visualize my future, not in a faraway, “one day I hope” kind of way, but in a grounded, “this is where I’m heading” kind of way. It is the future that God is leading me into. I pictured myself moving confidently in the life I’m building. I saw peace, purpose, growth, and clarity. I saw the woman I’m becoming: steady, focused, and aligned.  And as I walked out, I carried that energy with me.

One simple day became a quiet reminder: Your future isn’t waiting for a big moment. It’s built through small, intentional ones.

A Gentle Invitation for You

If your week has felt too ordinary… too heavy… too routine… maybe it’s your turn. Step out for a moment, even if it’s just for an hour. Give your mind some space. Sit in silence with your thoughts if you need to. Let inspiration find you the way it found me. Because sometimes the moment you step out of your routine is the moment your spirit finally exhales.

My Beautiful Souls, tell me: If you were to take yourself on a solo inspiration date, where would you go first?

Until next week, Laurie B.
